Mechanicals – Perception.

Found artifacts – from a past, present, future society – used for the manipulation, control, and/or influence of its citizens through their perception of “reality.”

Perception is the process of organizing and interpreting sensory information to understand the environment. However, perception does not equal reality. Each individual has a unique perception of the world based on their experiences and interests. We live in “parallel worlds” of perception, meaning what one person sees or experiences may differ from another’s viewpoint.
Our perceptions significantly influence our actions, reactions, and decisions. The way we interpret situations, form attitudes, and make judgments is all shaped by our perceptual lens.
But perception can be manipulated through propaganda, media, or other external influences. Control over perception can, therefore, lead to control over behavior, actions, and even reality as we know it.
Our judgments and awareness are also influenced by our perceptions. The more conscious we are of how perception works, the better we can navigate decisions and interpretations in our lives. And the easier it is to not be manipulated, controlled, and/or influenced.

THE NINE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF PROPAGANDA
BIG LIE – Always choose the big lie over the small; the masses will believe it more readily.
FOCUS – Don’t make it complicated. Ignore history; keep it simple for simple minds.
REPEAT – People cannot tell the difference between facts and familiarity. The same words repeated over and over will become true in their minds.
BLAME – Always blame, never credit the other side.  Debase, defame, dehumanize.
PROVOKE – Outrage, fear, and resentment are more powerful than reason, logic, or facts.
CRISIS – Shades of gray don’t work: Issues must be life/death, good/evil, love/hate, us vs. them. Urgency defeats objection.
EMOTION – A person might question facts, but they will never question their own feelings.
PANDER – Ignore intellectuals and reasonable arguments; target unthinking masses with powerful emotional pitches. Demonize all who disagree as having bad intentions.
NO LIMITS – Ignore all moral limits whenever stakes are high. Your willingness to do anything proves to the masses that your cause is  right. Morality is for losers.
